Our tour began in the romantic city of Paris. After meeting our guide Roy and all the others on our tour, we headed out for a walking tour of the local neighborhood, plus a walk by the iconic Eiffel Tower before heading to our first group dinner.

Joe enjoyed trying escargot for the first time!

After dinner we enjoyed a peaceful ride down the Seine river. What a great way to see Paris' iconic sites lit up.

Saint Chapelle

Our first full day in Paris started out with walking tours of Saint Chapelle and Notre Dame.

Eiffel Tower

Notre Dame

One of the finest examples of gothic architecture, Notre Damn most famously houses historically significant artifacts relative to Christianity including the Crown of Thorns said to have been worn by Christ, a piece of the holy cross, and one of the nails said to have nailed Christ's body to the cross.

Versailles

After a busy morning exploring Paris with our group, we headed by train to the beautiful Versailles, where three French Kings, including Louis XIV and other well-known French aristocrats such as Marie Antoinette, once lived. Photographs do little justice to the extreme opulence of the palace and its sprawling grounds.

Eiffel Tower- Take 2

We decided we couldn't come all the way to Paris and not make it to the top of the Eiffel Tower. We took the elevator all the way to the top, despite the wind and rain we experienced, it was a beautiful way to enjoy the city from above.

The Louvre Museum

Before heading out of Paris, we spent the morning witnessing many of the most sought after relics and pieces of artwork that exist in the world today. Among them, one of our favorites was seeing the original Mona Lisa painted by Leonardo da Vinci himself.
